Gas prices in New Hampshire have climbed above $4 per gallon, according to AAA, marking an increase of nearly 70 cents over the past month. The current average is up from $3.84 last week and is about $1 higher than this time last year.

The rise follows volatility in global oil markets tied to conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted supply and driven up crude prices. While much of New England’s fuel comes from Canada, global shifts continue to impact local costs.
Higher fuel prices are also affecting airlines, prompting carriers like Southwest, Delta, JetBlue, and United to raise baggage fees to offset rising expenses.
Experts say a recent ceasefire involving Iran could help stabilize prices, but caution that any relief may be gradual and uneven. As of Wednesday, New Hampshire’s average gas price remains below the national average of $4.16 per gallon.
